Question: I am a diabetic. Can I take a table spoon of pure honey daily?

03 March 2010

Answer: Honey is still considered as calories, and must be included in the calorie count. However, there are claims that honey is good for diabetes as it is not absorbed as fast as sugar, but the evidence is not strong. The current advice is to treat honey as any form of sugar.
